Paul Waters
Percussion/Drill Instructor

A graduate of Mt. Juliet High School, Paul Waters received his B.S degree in Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University.  Mr. Waters began his Drum Corps experience in 1986 and 1987 with the Troopers from Casper, Wyoming.  In 1988 and 1989, he performed with the former DCI World Champion Garfield Cadets/Cadets of Bergen County as a snare drummer. In 1990, he was named Phi Mu Alpha's Province 15 Performer of the Year. In 1991, Mr. Waters was a graduate student at The University of Tennessee where his responsibilities included composing and arranging for The Pride of the Southland Drum Line and principal percussionist of the U. T. Wind Ensemble.  He began his teaching career in 1992.  Mr. Waters is enjoying his tenure at Bellevue Middle School after spending 10 years either as a director or assistant director to high school bands in middle Tennessee. The Governor's School for the Arts named Mr. Waters an outstanding teacher in 1999.  He performed in the studio on marching snare and tenor drums for Row-loff Production's Marching Percussion Demo CD from 1998 - 2005 and continues to work as a studio percussionist. He continues to free lance for several area high school bands as a marching band drill writer and percussion arranger. Mr. Waters has served as percussion clinician and adjudicator in Middle Tennessee. In the last 9 years, his high school and middle school bands have earned superior ratings at MTSBOA Concert Festival and across America in grades II, III, IV, V, and VI. Mr. Waters' professional memberships include PAS, MENC, TMEA, TBA, and MTSBOA and is an education artist/endorser with Innovative Percussion .

Mr. Waters resides in Donelson with his wife, Karen, who is the music specialist at Tom Joy Elementary School. They were married in 2003 and they have a child who was born March 24th, 2007. Rachel Renee is full of personality and energy. Mr. Waters also has three children from a previous marriage. Jim was born in 1989. He is a Music Major at Trevecca Nazarene College. Jessica was born in 1992. She is an honors student at Gallatin High School and loves to dance. Jordan was born in 1997, plays the piano, and is now playing the flute in her Middle School band. Mr. Waters is an avid golfer and currently holds an 8 handicap.

Brian Belcher
Brass Instructor

Brian is a 1992 graduate of Morehead State University, were he majored in Music Education and Computer Science.  While in college, he was principal trumpet in the Symphony Band, featured soloist for the MSU Marching and Jazz Band, as well as the lead player in the school's fusion ensemble.  He was also the principal piccolo trumpet player in the Morehead State University Trumpet Ensemble, which performed as the featured ensemble at The International Trumpet Guild conference at LSU.  In addition, Brian also marched with The Crossmen Drum Corps.

Brian wrote and taught drill for the 250 plus member MSU Marching Band.  He has also written numerous drill and taught music at many competitive high school band programs through out the Midwest through the South.  He has judged numerous marching, concert and solo& ensemble contests.  In addition, he has organized a high school marching band contest with over 30 bands, as well as the annual Morehead State University Concert Band Clinic. 

For the past 16 years, Brian has toured as FOH Engineer and Production Manager with several performers, including Plumb, Big Tent Revival, Geoff Moore, Women of Faith and Gary Allen.  He has also been very active in the community.  He served as Alderman for the city of Hendersonville and was active in Civitan, where he coached football for 3 years and organized the flag football program.  He has also been a coach and referee in youth basketball for the Hendersonville Parks Department for the past 7 years. 

He is currently a realtor and CMCA with Halo Properties.  He and his wife, Stephanie have been married for 14 years and have two children, Brittany & Nathan.
